Constitution of Parish Family  Cells

1. PFC  Core Group

  • The Parish Family  Cell  core group shall consist of the following persons chosen by the Parish Priest. He may consult the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) and other parish associations to identify and select the couples.
  • One Priest (Parish Priest / Asst Priest / Religious Priest)
  • One Woman Religious, if possible
  • Five Couples (Core Team). They may include:
  • One Medical Doctor / One Medical Nurse/ One Lawyer/One Teacher, if available in a parish
  • They will choose from among themselves a coordinator (chairperson), an assistant coordinator, a secretary, a joint secretary and a treasurer to form the executive committee of the Parish Family Service Cell of the parish. This committee serves as the Core Group.
  • This Team will be responsible to co-ordinate the Family Service Apostolate in each parish.
  • The Parish Family  Cell will be trained and strengthened by the Deanery Family Cell / Diocesan Family Cell.

2. Extended Cell

Widow/ widower, separated single parent, single man / woman, etc. can be selected. Besides, a couple each can be chosen from each BEC to be part of the PFCs as members, if possible.

3. Assistance to the PFCs

The Parish Family  Cell will be trained and strengthened by the Diocesan Family Cell Service Team. Mrs. Wilma Williams (9717808121) is the Coordinator for Training and Development of the Parish Family Cells in the Archdiocese in order to nurture the growth of the PFCs. Two training progammes have been conducted at the diocesan level to assist the development of PFCs.
